How to Set Up a Wulftec Stretch Wrapper

The key to seamlessly transporting and storing your products

Stretch wrappers are multifaceted machines that SIGMA recommends for every company’s operations. If you’re transporting products, whether it’s across your facility or all the way to a storefront, a stretch wrapper will make sure your items stay uniformly packaged and safe from damage while on the move.

So now that we’ve totally sold you on buying a stretch wrapper (right?) we can cover how to set up and properly use your Wulftec stretch wrapper.

How to Set Up a Wulftech Stretch Wrapper

Connect the cables

When your stretch wrapper arrives, its cables will be disconnected. You can connect these by opening the cover on the front of the machine and connecting the two quick pin-type connections. Once the cables are connected, securely put the cover back on.

Reset the control panel

The next thing that needs to be set up is the control panel, which is what will monitor all of the machine's error codes. To reset the control panel, you simply press the green start/stop button.

Thread the film

When threading the wrapper’s film, you will want to put the film straight down on the manual with the arrows facing up. You will then pull the film through the rollers straight through what is called the dancer bar. Next, close the gate and check that the light is on, indicating your door is closed securely.

How to Operate a Wulftech Stretch Wrapper

Stopping your stretch wrapper
If you need to stop your stretch wrapper - for example, if it’s not wrapping the way you want it to, your product is about to hit something, or if you want to add a label to your product - just hit the green start/stop button. This will immediately stop the stretch wrapper.

Starting your stretch wrapper
Once you’re ready to continue wrapping, all you have to do is press the start/stop button again and it will continue operations.

Adjusting the film height
If you want to change the height at which your film is wrapped, you need to adjust the carriage speed. Increasing the speed will move the film higher, and decreasing the speed will make the film wrap lower.

Add more film
If you want your product to be wrapped with more film, you can adjust this by your rotation speed.

Change the speed at which the carriage goes down
If you want the carriage to move slower while wrapping your product, you will need to turn the carriage speed down.

Adding tension to your film
The tension of the film can be adjusted by moving the tension knob.

Auto height sensor
The auto height sensor on your stretch wrapper should always be on, this is the photo eye that sees the top of your product load.

Summary

A stretch wrapper will securely wrap your products onto a pallet so that they’re ready to be shipped out and transported. This extra step of packaging will save you both time and money. Trust us, there is nothing worse than a pallet full of products spilling over. Keep your product and employees safe by investing in a stretch wrapper today.
