What To Expect When Buying Brokered Equipment
What to expect when buying brokered
In addition to our own inventory, SIGMA Equipment offers a network of brokered equipment supplied by businesses like yours. This expands our reach beyond equipment hosted in our own warehouse and opens you up to more possibilities to fit your projects’ needs. Our dedicated staff is always on the lookout for quality equipment; when we find the right piece, we list it on our vast marketplace on behalf of the owner.
When buying brokered equipment, let us do the work for you. We’ll save you the time and cost associated with researching equipment on your own. Our dedicated sales team will comb through countless listings to curate a selection of equipment we think would fit your needs perfectly. We’ll keep you in the loop every step of the way.
While the SIGMA Equipment team will do our best to ensure a smooth purchase process, there are a few important things to keep in mind when working with an additional party. This guide will help you navigate working with an additional vendor and make sure all parties' needs are met.
See your equipment in person whenever possible. Photos and videos are a great way to assess your purchase. However, seeing it in person is the best way to physically inspect equipment and ensure it will fit your needs.SIGMA Equipment can help facilitate this request and ensure you get the most recent photos and videos possible as well as the opportunity to see the piece in person.
Consider equipment storage. Sellers store their idle equipment in a variety of environments. While we always try to ensure that equipment is kept in the best possible conditions we recommend scheduling an on-site visit before sending payment, just to make sure everything is as you want it to be.
Consider shipping, rigging, skidding, and freight. The SIGMA Equipment network spans the United States and around the globe. As such, shipping and rigging are not always included in your final price. Our customers are responsible for transporting equipment from the current owner to their facility, along with any associated costs.
Moving equipment can be complicated, but it doesn’t have to be. If you’re new to working with third-party shipping or rigging companies, SIGMA’s logistics team is available for hire. Regardless of your decision, we’ll provide guidance and empower you with options that fit your needs.
Timelines may vary. SIGMA Equipment tries to work with both our buyers and sellers to expedite the buying process as much as possible, but it’s important to keep in mind owners are working around their own production schedules and the process can take time. SIGMA Equipment will work with you on getting your purchase as fast as possible and will communicate with you every step of the way.
Confirm any additional parts or components you might need. Once you’re ready to buy a piece of equipment, confirm that you do not need any additional components or parts. Equipment is often tailored to its specific use case, and may be equipped with or lack certain parts. In order to make sure that you get everything you are looking for, please connect with our sales team to determine any required components or parts prior to purchase.
