How to Return Rental Equipment
Returning equipment the right way can save you time and money.
When returning your rental equipment to SIGMA Equipment, you will want to follow the steps listed below to make sure the equipment gets back to us safely and securely. From cleaning the machine of product to providing ultimate security in shipment, this guide will help sustain the quality of our rental equipment.
Cleaning
The beginning of the return process starts with cleaning. Once you are finished using the equipment, be sure to clean areas that may have had product running through it. If the equipment was kept in a manufacturing environment with dust or dirt, be sure to wipe it clean of any debris. Make sure that proper cleaning supplies are used for different types of material (plastic, stainless steel, glass).
Skidding
| One of the most important parts of the return process starts when the equipment is initially received. Be sure to save the original skid that the equipment came on, as it is custom-made for that specific unit. If the original skid gets lost or damaged, please contact our logistics department so that we can assist you in securing your load in the best way possible. |

Strapping
All equipment needs to be strapped down to its skid before shipment. Strapping provides maximum stability for a piece of equipment so that there is minimal jostling during transit. It is recommended that nylon strapping is used, as it cannot damaged the machine. If nylon strapping is not available, we recommend 1 inch ratchet straps. We ask that you do not use metal banding as it can chip paint as well as dent or scratch the equipment.
Shipping
Returning rentals must be done with an air ride trailer. Common carrier and Less Than Truck Load (LTL) are not acceptable. If you need an FRT quote or have any other questions in shipping your return, please contact SIGMA Logistics for further assistance
