Model TG stands for transgrip design, wherein cap transfer and bottle gripping functions are both performed by the same mechanism. Swinging transgrip arms are mounted on the revolving turret and they carry gripper shoes which clamp the bottles against starwheel plates. As the bottles come and go, the arms rise and fall to clear them. As a bottle enters a station, an arm descends alongside it and swings in to grip it. Then a chuck descends and screws a cap onto the bottle. Chucks are built so the cap application torque is controlled by the tension in a spring drive connection.
