Rental Equipment: Vertical Form Fill Seal

Equipment in this category is mainly used for products that can be dropped, poured or augered into pouches. Vertical form, fill, and seal machines form bags around a long hollow conical tube, called the forming tube. The film is pulled downward around the outside of the tube and a vertical heat-sealing bar clamps onto the edges of the film, melting the seam edges together. The product is dispensed through the tube into the center of the bag. The horizontal sealing bar then seals the top of the bag, simultaneously forming the bottom of the next bag above.
