Types of stretch wrappers include orbital, turntable, rotary arm, and rotary ring. They can be manual, semi-automatic, or automatic. The film is stretched as it is applied, then shrinks back, causing the package to be held tightly together. The multiple layers of film applied are very strong and hold up throughout the process of shipping on skids or pallets.
